Cute face

Daniel was just too cute I had to take a picture.

A Tuesday morning at our house...

Last Tuesday Amelia, Daniel and I were having a good old time, so I decided to take a few pics. Here is what we were doing :

Earlier that morning Amelia had watched a Curious George show where George went swimming in a lake. So Amelia wanted to pretend to jump into a lake. (I can't seem to get the pics in the right order, oh well.)

The whole time Amelia and I are pretending to jump into the lake Daniel was eating, and so cutely peers around and smiles at us.

Next we were playing kitty cats. Amelia set out my food, and was very diligent about keeping my bowl full of soup.

Then Amelia told me she needed to go to work. (often times I will tell Amelia that Daddy is at work helping people) She told me she needed to go to work to help dinosaurs, and blew me a kiss and waved bye bye. It was too cute!

And Daniel kept peaking and smiling. :) It was a good morning.

Mother's Day

Well I forgot to bring the camera to my Mom's when we celebrated with her. :( But we had a good time. We had wonderful spaghetti, salad, bread and corn, and apple pie for dessert. Michael and John BBQ a great dinner for Jeanne at our house on Mother's day. We had chicken kabobs, spicy beans and corn, and a great bread that they warmed on the BBQ. He had also bought some guacamole chips because Jeanne likes guacamole. They were yummy.

Easter part 2

The Saturday before Easter we went to an egg hunt that was put on by someone in our ward. Amelia got to see all the eggs sitting out before it began. She was getting excited! :)

Daniel's 9 month check up

Today Daniel had his 9 month check up. He did really well getting his shot this time. It was only one shot but he hardly even cried this time.

His stats are:
weight: 17lbs 8 oz (7%)
height: 27.4 inches (19%)
head:17.95 inches (57%)

So his weight has dropped off a bit. The doctor said she was not worried because he has started crawling and was sick a lot of the last 2 months. Two of the illnesses he did not want to eat solids during. Poor dude. But otherwise he is doing well. We will just have to try and beef him up. :)

At this point he is still on his tummy medicine as well, and is NOT sleeping through the night. The doc likes to bring this up... she says that at 12lbs they should be able to sleep through the night. But... we are working on that. It is not easy for me. He wakes up at lest two times a night, and at one point I had him down to just one time a night for a week. But then I tried to get him off his tummy medicine and then he got sick. So it is a work in progress.

He is crawling really well and is so interested in every little tiny thing on the floor. He even checks under all the rugs. He is starting to pull himself to his knees, but not to his feet when he reaches furniture. He follows Amelia and I around the house. It is cute. He is still clapping and loves the song "BINGO" he has learned to sign "all done" (for us it is just putting your arms in the air) He loves water and to take a bath. Amelia loves to entertain him while he is eating in his highchair and it is so cute when they both are laughing at each other.

We love him lots and are so happy he is in our family!

Daniel is crawling!

Michael set up the tent in the living room and was playing with Amelia and Daniel inside. The tent floor gave Daniel some added traction, and he started crawling! It is fun to watch each milestone. :)

What a month!

This month has been full of illnesses, from Pink Eye, for everyone in the family, to a nasty cold that last two weeks for everyone in the family, and Roseola for Amelia. She is still feeling sick, but the rest of us are almost back to normal. I hope no one gets what we had! It is not fun.

Here are some pictures from this last month:

I love how the cat just sat down to watch Amelia play.

Michael was playing with Amelia one morning and made her a birds nest and a bird beak
This is a face I just love. Daniel's squint, he does it frequently.

I think Amelia looks like a little princess in this pic. We were pretending to blow bubbles... it was probably raining outside... can't wait for spring!! :)

This cat! I tell ya. It has more personality then I can handle sometimes :) This plant sits at the top of a large book case. So when the cat curls up in the pot there is only an inch or so between her and the ceiling. I don't know why it is so appealing to sit in it. But it sure makes a mess when she gets out. Also the plant is suffering a little under the weight of her body.
So today I left the room Daniel was in with all his toys and this basket to go do something with Amelia. I came back a few minutes later to find him laying on top of the basket!!! As I went to go get the camera he helped himself to his feet, and he looked so proud of himself! I can't believe how fast he is changing. He can now go from a crawl position back to sitting, and can sort of crawl/scoot backwards, but not forwards... yet :)

We love you Daniel!

This week

This last few weeks have been interesting. A week ago Daniel woke up in the morning with pink eye, the bacterial kind, and a bad case of it. He was doing well other wise, ears and all, so he got eye drops and I thought we would be done with it. Monday afternoon I came down with a cold, in the middle of the first day of potty training Amelia. Daniel then got a cold, and a bad cough Tuesday night. Wednesday morning Amelia woke up with pink eye. ( I thought I had done so good not letting it spread, but alas it did after 4 days) So I took them both to the doctor. Turns out they both had "silent" ear infection that come with pink eye. Thursday morning Michael woke up with my same cold, sore throat, head ache, tired, you know the stuff. Now it is Friday night in addition to my cold I ... have pink eye.

On a brighter note, Amelia is still using the potty! She is doing so good, yea! She is still learning but not sure I am the best teacher of this... I take my hat off to all the mom's who trained their kids, it is gross, and take a lot of time, attention and positive attitude :)

I hope everyone stays healthy and has a great weekend!! Can't wait for spring!!!

Our House... is rarely clean...

Our house is rarely clean and often times it only looks nice just before bedtime, or just before guest arrive. Those of you who know me well will laugh to hear me say that I feel so much better, when our house is clean and in order, and that I keep trying to get it to and keep it at that point. When I was younger my room was A MESS!! an BIG Mess. My mom would try to help me clean it, but I refused her help and told her "I couldn't find anything when it was clean." When I moved out, lets just say the carpet looked brand new.

I just read this blog post by a mom and it put things into perspective about having children and what we expect out house to look like. I really enjoyed it and wanted to share it.
