December
December is so busy in my family because we have two birthdays in addition to Christmas and New Years. But it is also my favorite time of the year! Here is what we have been up to for the month so far.
My mom's surprise birthday! We were so glad to pull it off without her figuring out what we were doing!

Genius in the making??

These are some cute flowers Michael gave me for my birthday. Can't help but smile when you look at it :)

I decided I wanted ice cream Sundays instead of a cake. Just to shake things up. I was so glad my sister brought gummy bears for a topping. I don't know anyone else that puts them on their ice cream for a topping, but it is my favorite! Do any of you put gummy bears on?

A new addition to our family...
Well, it all started when I was taking the trash out one Saturday morning. I opened the door and this cat almost jumped right into my house! I was so surprised at how bold the cat was to insist that it needed to come in.
I quickly pushed the cat back with the trash bag, and closed the door, with the trash bag sitting on our door mat. I looked out the widow to see if it would go away, but it just hung around the door eating our grass.
I then remembered a neighbor had lost a cat that met the description of this cat about a month ago. So Amelia and I took a picture of the cat and set out to find the neighbor. We had to do a little asking around because after a month I couldn't remember exactly where she said she lived. We found her, and I asked if she was still missing a cat, and she told me no! Oh no I thought. Michael is home feeding the cat, and this is not the owner, what are we going to do with it! Well the lady loves cats and encouraged me to keep it and even offered to give me a litter box. I told her we will have to see.
So we first decided to feed it and see if we could find the owners. But we couldn't find any owners, so we decided that we would take it to the vet to see if it had a chip, that says who the owners are, and have it checked out to see if the cat was sick at all. After that we would talk about if we would even keep the cat. But by the time Monday came, Michael said it could be his Christmas present, and after a visit to the vet, we took a visit to the pet store, and the cat became ours. ( and I said Merry Christmas :) )
It's name is Gigi, named after the cat in the movie called Kiki. It really is the sweetest cat, and is so good to Amelia. I am just baffled at how the cat was so set on the idea that we were it's new owners. It just climbed right into our lap, we would let it out and it come right back to our door and meows to come in. It sleeps on the couch like it has been here for years... it is just so crazy! But we love our new cat.

Sleep
Sleep for me is one of those critical things in life. I get enough and I think life is grand, I don't and I think the world is falling apart. Thus I have tried so hard to get the sleep I need..
This post sums it all up so well!! and makes me laugh. You should check it out.

Snowman and first feeding
Amelia has really enjoyed the holiday season this year with the pumpkins for Halloween, the turkeys for Thanksgiving and everything that comes with Christmas! Snowmen have been one of the tops favorites. She loves to tell you all about what the snowmen wear. The hat, the scarf, and buttons, the carrot nose. It is so cute. I took these pictures after asking her to tell me about the snowman.

I love how she is holding the snowman's nose in this picture. :)

So we finally tried some rice cereal with Daniel. Amelia insisted on trying it too. I think she may have liked it better then Daniel did. Daniel just let it in his mouth and then spit it right back out.
(He is good at that spitting out part, he practices twice a day with his medication, and let me tell you he is getting really good at it!)

I think he is looking for someone to save him here...
I love his look in this picture. It is like he is saying, go ahead try and make me swallow it!
Maybe he will like different foods :)

Camera
We got a new Camera. Michael and I have been saving up and we purchased a new Camera!! I am so excited. It is also my birthday and Christmas gift, and even part of our family gift for Christmas. I guess that lightens Michael's load of having to figure out two presents for me in one month. :) I am super excited and have been taking a lot of pictures. Amelia has even gotten tired of it and told me no more mom!
I still need to edit them but here are a few of my favorites. (Don't worry there will be more to come too.)
