Recent Pictures

This is one of my favorite pictures of late. Amelia was out playing in the moss that John and Michael were raking out of our lawn. We are slowing dethatching it.

Amelia would load up her bucket, and then dump it all over herself.

Thank you, thank you to Michael and John for taking on this big project. I started it when I was only slightly pregnant, and now I can't really do any of it because it hurts my back :( I think I only did like a 1/16 of our lawn by myself... it is a big lawn, and it has A LOT of moss!! Some parts don't even classify as lawn anymore in my book :) Not sure what you would call it, a moss field?

This is my other favorite picture! Amelia has such a sweet face! You can see she also gave herself a bloody lip on her new tricycle.

Not long after having her new tricycle at home, she had it on it's side and was "working" on it... with her play fork... too cute! :) What a girlie girl huh, bloody lip and working on the bike.

This is Amelia's first time eating chocolate pudding. She loved it as you can tell. Not a drop left in her tin!

I got this great plastic bib from Nichole that I decided would be for arts and crafts, I want you to look closely at the bib, do you see any pen... nope... the pen was everywhere but the bib. Silly girl. It did all wash off, so no complaints here. :)

Accomplishments as a mother.

Accomplishing something when you are a mother is very different then accomplishing something before you were a mother. At lest for me it is! :) I often tell my husband how hard to is to get anything done. I am learning, however to accomplish things with a little shadow around but sometimes it feels like so progress.

Just the other day he sent me a great article about setting goals and feeling better about what you accomplish. It is short and to the point. I loved setting goals in my high school days and had felt that everyone should :) These days I don't do much of that. I am lucky to keep up with the house, the Amelia, and get the nap I need for the little baby on the way. But this article has inspired me to try again to set goals, even if they are simple and small, and then to recognize them at the end of the day. If you have a second you should check out the article too.

Organization

For the last 6 months or so I have been spending time organizing our house... we have lived here for almost a year and a half, so really for most of that time I have been doing some sort of organization/unpacking. It is not something that comes easily to me, nor something I completely enjoy. But I would have to say I have really enjoyed having less stuff- it is kind of freeing to have less of it, and to know what is in all those boxes in our house.

I would not say I am a pack rat, but I do like to keep a lot of mementos and things like that, I have kept a lot of high school papers, college research papers and notes, racing shoes, and track pictures and anything that I thought I might like to see in later years. Now that we have a new baby boy on the way, I am needing more of the space in our house, and I have forced myself to open those boxes and see if I really care to keep all this stuff. I have found that I don't care much for looking through my old physics notes, or Spanish lessons, I really enjoyed those classes, but I don't think I need to pack around the notes anymore... and needless to say, we have had a lot of recycling going on at our house :) I can't tell you for sure but I think I have cleared out, or reorganized for better packing, like 20-30 boxes! (no not all from high school and college ) I didn't count but it was an entire room full! The project is almost complete... I still have to get rid of all the empty boxes and I have about 4 boxes left to find homes for. Then for the fun part of making the room into a little boy's room. I have a little over 2 months until he comes, I can't wait it will be exciting. I will post pictures when the room is done! :)
