Fantastic Friday

At church over the past years we have had something called Fantastic Friday where we as women all get together have have some classes on: a lot of crafts, some skills, or hobby like things. Last year Daniel was still young so I only signed up for learning how to crochet. I loved it and made a lot of wash clothes that year :) This year I signed up for more then I could handle... but this is what I was able to get done:

Frosted Jar- using widow frost and contact paper. She also taught us how to make a photo copy of a picture transfer onto contact paper so you could have a picture on a jar... very cool!We made double sided blocks for Halloween and Thanksgiving. I thought it was cute and very clever to have it double sided.

There was a super cool class on party planning. It made me want to go and have a party right away. One of my favorite take away things from it was, cake stands make things looks special, and you can make one by going to the thrift store and finding a white platter, and a white vase and glue them together. One more great thing from that class is this AWESOME dip! I am too lazy to type it all out for you... but here is the site.

Daniel's First Hair Cut!

At church the women had an activity called Fantastic Friday where you get to do lots of crafts and learn new skills. One of my new skills is hair cutting for men/boys. Daniel's was my first client... he did very well. But with all my touch ups at the end he kept trying to hid from me. It was cute, he is a very patient and polite boy. I will miss that baby face and the little curls. But I do like the clean cut, and the little boy that he looks like now. He IS really a little boy now. He understands so much and does so much now. Don't' worry I saved the baby cuts for a keepsake book. :)

Just a side note, I cut his hair with scissors, not clippers, and around the ears and the neck line was the hardest! But it went well. I had to go back and cut the sides shorter but it is very cute! I am so glad they offered that class and that the sweat stylist taught us.

Daniel Milestone

Daniel this week really began to say what you asked him to say. I know that sounds weird. But for a very long time he would say all kinds of words, just repeating what he hears. But he would only do it once, and if you asked him to say something, he would never say it. But this week I noticed he will respond if you say something like "Daniel say apple."

I am happy. He says so many words randomly that I could never show someone how cute he sounded. But I hope to now :) I know this is not a "big" milestone.. but it is to me. :) Also on Friday I am taking a class that is suppose to teach how to cut men/boy's hair... Daniel should be getting his first hair cut shortly afterwards...
